Anyone at ANY size can have an eating disorder or painful relationship with food. Treatment can help give you the support and tools you need to recover and move forward.

FAQs
-
An initial consultation call gives you the opportunity to briefly discuss your concerns and reasons for seeking therapy. It's a chance for me to assess if I can provide the help you need, and for you to ask any questions about the approach and methods I use. From there, we can decide to book an initial session.
-
The first session, often referred to as an intake appointment, is a time for us to get to know each other. You'll be asked to share about your current struggles, life history, and what prompted you to seek therapy. We will also discuss your goals for therapy. It's a safe space for you to express any fears or concerns, and for me to understand your needs better. It's also when we start laying the groundwork for our therapeutic relationship. Remember, this is also your time to ask any questions you might have about the therapy process.
-
Typically, therapy sessions last for about 50 minutes. However, the duration can vary depending on the specific needs of the client or the family.
-
I currently do not accept insurance but can help you utilize out-of-network benefits. If your insurance offers out-of-network benefits, you would pay for your therapy sessions up front and then submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement. The therapist can provide a detailed receipt (also known as a "superbill") for you to submit. The amount of reimbursement varies depending on your specific insurance plan.

A therapist specializing in eating disorders works with individuals struggling with unhealthy eating habits, like anorexia, bulimia or binge eating disorder. They facilitate the exploration of the underlying emotional or psychological issues causing the disorder and help develop healthier coping mechanisms.
-
Trauma therapy aims to help individuals process traumatic experiences, reduce symptoms of trauma like anxiety and depression, and improve overall quality of life.
-
Family therapy involves multiple family members participating in therapy sessions together. The aim is to improve communication, solve family problems, understand and handle special family situations, and create a better functioning home environment.
